Markdown in Articles

Markdown lets you use plain text formatting in articles in DigitaltMuseum. It can be used to make links, lists, emphasise text etc.

Syntax Description and Examples

The following syntax can be used in the text block in the DigitaltMuseum editor:​

Headers:

# H1
## H2
### H3
#### H4
##### H5
###### H6


Ordered lists

1. First list item
2. Second list item
3. Third list item
...and so on

Unordered lists

* First unordered list item
* Second unordered list item
* Third unordered list item

Links

Use [Link Title](URL)

Example: [DigitaltMuseum](https://digitaltmuseum.org)



Links in lists

Footnotes

Footnote references are added to the text by using [^Name_of_footnote] to the text. For instance, you can use My first footnote [^1] and My second Footnote [^2]. And at the bottom of the textblock add the descriptions by referencing, for instance:

[^1]: Description of My first footnote
[^2]: Descriotion of My second footnote


If you would like to add all the descriptions of the footnotes at the bottom of an article, you simple add an emtpy textblock at the bottom with the following input:

///Footnotes Go Here//

Embedded Content

You can embed content by iFrames, for instance from YouTube. Simply copy the embed link and paste it in a textblock.
